A Backyard Wedding

So I am finally getting my blog together and getting some recent events up.  Over the next few weeks I'll also be posting events from the past, which you can view on my website now.

This was a relaxed event held in the back yard of the brides mother. What a beautiful and meaningful setting.  And while it was threatening to rain the weather held out and the temperature was perfect for wedding day hair do's.

Here is a picture of the tent as guests arrived.

And I love how the the place cards were strung between two trees,  the bride even put out bottles of skin so soft with pink ribbon in case the bugs started biting.

These are photos of the arch, which almost fell on top of me while I was decorating it due to some crazy wind gusts.  Luckily I brought some wire with me and we secured it to the wooden fence behind it.  We had to warn the officiant and the photographers
 lest someone get clotheslined!

The arch was decorated with passion vine and fuchsia spray roses.

Now for the good stuff.  The bride wanted everything to tie back into her bouquet.

This is the brides bouquet.  It consisted of Hot Lady, Hot Princess, and Bugatti (yep, like the car) roses, with little green flowers and bear grass loops.  Just for sizes sake, in case you are trying to figure out how large you'd like your bouquet, the bouquet is in an 8 inch fishbowl and had about 30 stems.

The Bridesmaids bouquets...a smaller version of the brides.  15 stems.

A wrist and pin on corsage for the grandmothers and mothers

The boutonnieres wrapped with thin fuchsia ribbon

The centerpieces still incorporated the bear grass, but it was wrapped around
the inside of the vase.

Here are the centerpieces packed and ready to do their job.

The only issue with this wedding was traffic, a Saturday wedding going down towards the New Jersey Shore...not fun driving, but being a Jersey Girl I know what Saturday summer traffic is like so we planned for the delay...we were even there before the caterer who was stuck in traffic and over 1 1/2 hrs late!

About

Bridal Bouquet Design began after I created the floral designs for my own wedding. I was looking to save money and have always loved working with flowers. I never imagined that from that one experience I would be where I am now. I am a self taught florist who has been creating floral designs for weddings for 4 years now. Starting with my own, then having friends who saw what I did for my wedding, ask me to do theirs, to my first official wedding for a friend of a friend. Since then, I have been a very busy lady, averaging 2-3 weddings a month and fulfilling the floral dreams of many a bride without breaking their budget.

I am based out of Colonia, NJ in Woodbridge Township but am willing to, and have traveled in the surrounding areas. From NYC, Western Long Island, Eastern Pennsylvania and New York, and all of New Jersey I can create the designs professional florists do for much much less.

If you would like to meet in person I meet with prospective clients at the Barnes and Noble in the Menlo Park Mall, Metuchen NJ. Just send me an email and we can set something up.

Encouraging words from satisfied Brides

I agonize over every detail and really try to put myself into the brides head so her flowers are exactly as she envisioned. The most nerve racking moment for me is bringing the bride her bouquet and hoping that it is everything she hoped for (I haven't had an unhappy bride yet!). That's why it really makes my day when I receive applause and praise from brides I've worked with.

Tracey,

THE FLOWERS WERE AMAZING!!! They were everything we had hoped for and more. They really made the ambiance at the wedding. Thank you so much for helping to make it a special day for us!

Thank you again for all of your hard work, everyone (especially Joe and I) loved the flowers! They were so full of color and life, they are forever burned into my memory!

If you ever need a reference, please dont hesitate to contact me. And I will certainly recommend you to anyone I know who is looking for flowers in the area!

Best,
Jen

Tracey -
Just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful flowers and the service. You were terrific and handled everything perfectly. My centerpieces were exactly how I envisioned and my bouquet was gorgeous. I loved it all.
I will be sure to pass your name around to future brides.

Danielle

I wanted to thank you for the beautiful job you did on my flowers for my wedding. You made this process so easy and stress free, you really know what your doing, and it is really nice since when your planning a wedding things get crazy. I have gotten so many compliments on my flowers from the bouquets to the centerpieces. They were all beautiful and elegant and made my day even better. I would recommend you to all of my friends and family getting married. See you at my sisters wedding!

I just wanted to thank you for doing such a wonderful job at our wedding. All of the flowers were beautiful. The centerpieces came out even better than I was expecting and we were getting compliments on them all night. I know I didn't really have any clear ideas for you to work with, so thanks for being so creative! I couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. Thank you so much!

A Unique and Affordable Approach to Wedding Flower Design

Wedding...just the hint of the word when dealing with vendors can double and triple your price, especially when it comes to the flowers.

Flowers are essential to any wedding and play a large part in setting the tone for the day.  Unfortunately when trying to find a florist you may be shocked at the prices for flowers that may not even be alive 2 days after the festivities.  I offer a floral design service where, for a much lower price, you can still have the flowers you want, the wedding you want, and stay within your budget.

I began this business after creating floral designs for my own wedding.   While I did save money I was extremely stressed and pressed for time trying to get it all done.  There I was, in the 48 hours up to my wedding, frantically making bouquets and centerpieces (hoping they'd last), while dealing with family members coming into town, making sure I had everything for the wedding, getting my nails done, getting to the church for rehearsal, going to the rehearsal dinner...all in all not very relaxing.

How can I save you money?
Since I don't have a store front and work in my own private studio I can offer to do your flowers for much less, while still providing you with the arrangements and the bouquet you dream of.  I have access to all of the same flowers and supplies as a floral shop and can get them at the same price.
I can also help you save money by focusing on a color scheme rather than types of flowers. For example, if you are dying for Peonies for your September wedding, I can still get them, but the cost will be 4 times as much as they would be when they are in season, usually April-June.  Pick your colors and we'll work with flowers in season at the time of year of your wedding.

I truly want to help you stay within your wedding budget without making your wedding look "budget".
